Holy Trinity OCA Chapel Celebrates Feast Day

Holy Trinity Temple, Wilkeson, Washington. Pentecost 2008

Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, Tacoma has always celebrated the Great Feast of Pentecost at our historic chapel, Holy Trinity Temple in Wilkeson. This year we celebrate the 108th anniversary of the building of this sacred and historic place, the 105th anniversary of its consecration by Saint Tikhon, as well as the 112th anniversary of our parish! Holy Trinity Temple is located in the old eastern Pierce County mining town of Wilkeson.

To celebrate the day we will close our Tacoma church for Saturday evening and Sunday morning services on June 14 & 15, and hold services at Holy Trinity, 431 Long Street, Wilkeson 98396.
Wilkeson services will include: Vigil of Pentecost at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14. Festal Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 15. Vespers with Kneeling Prayers will immediately follow Liturgy. Service of Thanksgiving at 3:15 p.m. on Pentecost day. (This service will be held in Tacoma in event of rain).

In conjunction with the Feast, we will have a potluck picnic in the back yard of the parish. We will sell grilled bratwurst sandwiches and drinks! You provide the rest! Bring a blanket and a beach chair. We’ll have a few tables and chairs for our seniors. If the weather is rainy, no problem, we’ll go down to our Tacoma property for lunch & Thanksgiving Service (rainy weather directions from Wilkeson to Tacoma will be provided). The potluck will begin after church and close at 3:00 p.m.

Directions to Holy Trinity:
Take SR 410 eastbound past Sumner to Buckley, on the outskirts of Buckley you will see a sign for Wilkeson, SR 165. Go south on SR 165 for four miles, take a left at the Wilkeson arch and you will see the chapel. Warning: Parking is allowed on only one side of the street on most Wilkeson streets, you will be cited if you illegally park.
